Fundraising In DIYA
"An act of generosity may not change the course of history, but if it changes the course of someone's life, it is worth it".
As a registered non-profit organization we strive to spend each paisa we get to benefit every trainee and employee in the organization as well as those who assist us financially. In return for the trust placed in us by our donors, we subscribe to a policy of complete transparency.
Why Do We Need Funds?
Like everyone else we too have to pay bills! bills! bills!
Money goes out faster than it comes in. However we are here to serve and know the difference we make in people's lives. To empower us to make this difference we need your support to grow professionally and provide more services to impact more lives.
- The services we envision putting in place necessitate employment of skilled professionals (social workers, care givers, vocational counsellors, marketing manager etc.)
- Most of our trainees come from a low income bracket and are unable to pay market-related rates for our services
- Travelling and communication costs make a huge impact on our budget
- Our overheads (rent, utilities, salaries) make a massive dent in the budget and very few funders are prepared to assist in operational costs
To operate more professionally as a non-profit NGO, we must have
- a strong governing body
- financial projection plans
- business plan
- marketing plan
- audited financial statements
- annual reports
Our work is crucial to the well being of the country, because of our belief that differently-abled persons are not surplus citizens. They can be empowered to work, earn, and contribute to the country's economy rather than being a burden on the state.
